11月15日,中国正式加入世界贸易组织(WTO),这对于21世纪我国经济发展具有重大而深远的意义。我国的经济结构、经济运行方式和企业经营管理制度和理念等必将发生深刻变化,国有企业改革将进一步加快,从而影响到广大职工群众的切身利益,对工会工作运行机制和工作方式带来新的挑战。因此,了解WTO以及加入WTO对我国社会、经济生活的影响,对于各级工会组织在新形势下更好地开展工作,维护职工合法权益,对于广大职工群众有针对性地提高自身素质、做好应对准备,具有十分重要的意义。
