Objective To understand the use of antimicrobial agents in outpatient clinics from 2007 to 2011, to further standardize the rationality of antimicrobial use and to reduce the risk of bacterial resistance, and to provide a reference for rational use of drugs in outpatients. Methods Retrospective analysis of 2007-20011 outpatient antibacterial drug use monitoring results. Results The outpatient antibacterials utilization rates in 2007-2011 were 34.78%, 31.67%, 33.03%, 33.98% and 36.53% respectively, of which pediatric outpatient antibacterials were the most frequently used drugs. The combined antibacterial drug use rates were 7.69%, 7.31% and 5.90 %, 5.91% and 5.11% respectively. The rates of intravenous drug use were 29.90%, 29.40%, 32.48%, 30.22% and 31.35% respectively. Irrational manifestations mainly included no indication medication, irrational perioperative medication, irrational dosage, Unreasonable combination and so on. Conclusion The unreasonable use of antibacterials in outpatient clinics is still widespread. The rational use of antibacterials remains to be improved.
