一九八四年底,交通部在四川省眉山县召开了全国公路交通发展问题座谈会,各省、市、自治区主管公路交通的厅、局长及有关人员近二百人齐集一堂,共商中国公路交通发展的宏图大计。这次会议,进一步传达学习了中央领导同志对加快公路交通发展的指示,交流了经验,研究提出了关于加快公路交通发展若干问题的初步意见,是一次加快公路交通发展的重要会议。
