万历时期的矿监税使是明代历史研究中的一个重要问题,它对明王朝的衰落产生了很大的影响。所谓矿监,是明神宗派到各地督领金银等矿开采的宦官;所谓税使,是明神宗派到各地征收商税的宦官。明神宗之所以派出矿监税使,目的是要他们将开矿或抽税的所得,进献给自己,以便挥霍。万历二十四年至二十七年间,朝廷派出了几乎遍及全国各地的矿监税使。矿监税使来到各地后,为了讨神宗的欢心,将搜刮所得,源源不断地送往宫廷内库。大体说来,每年他们向朝廷进献大约171万两白银,0.36万两黄金。
The mine tax supervisor in the Wanli period was an important issue in the historical research of the Ming Dynasty. It had a great impact on the decline of the Ming dynasty.
