遵照毛主席关于“把医疗卫生工作的重点放到农村去”的指示,广东中医学院在海南黎族苗族自治州乐东县创办了一所六·二六医科大学。这所医科大学面向少数民族地区,实行社(场)来社(场)去,半工半读,招收有一定实践经验的赤脚医生入学。第一届招生七十名,黎族、苗族学员占百分之七十三,已于今年六月二十六日开学。六·二六医科大学师生继承和发扬抗大的革命精神,艰苦创业。师生们在昌化江畔一块布满荆棘、乱石的坡地上进行劳动建校,迅速盖起了一座草棚。大家豪迈地说:“我们亲手建起了草棚大学,一定要把它办成为毛主席革命路线争气的争气大学!”六·二六医科大学建立了有自治州党委、县委、当地教育部门的负责人和贫下中农、工宣队、学校干部、教职工、学员代表参加的领导班子。他们坚持坚定正确的政治方向,把转变学员的思想放在首位,把教育革命同农村的医疗卫生革命紧密结合起来,建立教学,防治,生产、科研相结合的新体制,实行“几上几下”。师生组成医疗队,到疟疾发病率较高的公社进行以灭疟为中心的教学、科研活动。实践一段时间以后,再回到学校结合上基础课加以
