谷子在播种前进行种子处理,可以提高保苗率,减轻病虫危害,提高产量。方法如下:1.盐水选种.播种前3—5天,将种子放在浓度10％的盐水内,捞出秕各、草籽和杂质,然后再将下沉的谷种捞出,用清水洗2—3遍,晾干待播。也可用浓度15％的盐水选种,效果更好,也以将半饱谷粒除去。试验证明,盐水选种,可使种子千粒重提高0.4—0.6克。选后的种子粒大、饱满、营养充足,刚出土的幼苗健壮、叶色深、整齐一致,对提高种子的发芽率和出苗率,均有很好的作用。
