经中国医学科学院药用植物资源开发研究所检查，并与国内外其它地区产西洋参比较，证明呼市产西洋参含最重要的成分─人参总皂甙和单体皂甙大部分最高，其它成分，包括水溶性糖含量也均在中等以上水平；含９种必需的氨基酸，其中５种与参照组相比含量最高：含具有扶正固本、活血化瘀、益气安神药理作用的微量元素较高，含有害的铅最少。文章从这些成分的药用价值上，讨论了呼市产西洋参的质量，建议推广种植。
Examined by the Institute of Medicinal Plant Resources Development, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and compared with other American and foreign ginseng products, it is proved that the most important components of American ginseng grown in Hohhot are ginseng saponins and monosomic saponins most of them. Other ingredients, including water-soluble Sexual sugar content are also above the average level; contains nine kinds of essential amino acids, of which five were the highest levels compared with the reference group: contains a Fuzolidan, blood circulation, Qi and soothing pharmacological effects of higher trace elements, including Harmful lead at least.
