Proposed by the Federal Ministry for Research and Technology, a short-term exchange of information was held in Berlin, during which experts from the Association of Practical Industrial Societies and Research conducted an exchange of views on the significance of microelectronic applications. During the discussion, it was pointed out that the development and production of competitive electronic equipment presupposes seizing the latest generation of integrated circuits (1Cs), with special attention being given to application-specific circuits (ASICs).
