白化苗在不少禾本科植物的花粉植株中,都存在着一定比例的缺绿植株,大麦尤为显著,如在现有培养条件下,大麦品种Sabarlis的花粉植株中60-90%是白化苗.大麦白化苗现象不仅存在于花药培养中,而且也存在于花粉粒培养和整穗培养中.这些缺绿植株即使始终置于异养条件下,也不能形成正常的雌雄配子.因此,这些高频率白化苗的存在严重限制了花培技术在大麦育种中的有效应用.
