人就动物属性而言,并不比其它动物高明多少。而自以为超然物外者,全凭文化。凡是人就都有自己的文化水平,所不同者,深浅高下。在相同的社会背景中,文人就应该是人群中之精英。如果我们将文化作动词讲,文人就应该是那些被文所化得更深一点的人。人的文化过程需要知识,但有了知识不等于就是文人。知识更多的是人生存的技巧,而一个人文化的过程却是一种行为。它不但要求人有知有识,更重要的是在万事万物中身体力行。“文人无行”是假文人,一个人不管处在任何环境中,都应该去知晓自己的当务之急,然后全身心地投入,用自已的智慧、毅力去解决和处理。同时在行为的实践中不断去修正自己,才能祛邪扶正,直至眼障尽除,心性自见,胸怀博大,生仁爱之心。

All people have their own cultural level, different, shades. In the same social context, literati should be the elite in the crowd. If we speak of culture as a verb, literati should be those who have become deeper by the language. Human culture requires knowledge, but knowledge does not mean literati.
