畜牧业是我国社会主义建设的一个重要的方面,发展畜牧业不仅直接地以肥料(牲畜粪便)和动力(耕畜)支援农民生产,而且更为迫切的是以肉类、奶品等产品供应人民生活需耍。我国社会主义建设愈发展,人民的生活水平愈提高,对畜产品的需要就愈多。到底我国畜牧业发展的状况怎样,在畜牧业生产上贯彻执行党的社会主义建设总路线的情况怎样,去年畜牧业大跃进向我们提供了些什么宝贵经验,这是为不少人所关心的。人民出版社出版的《多快好省地发展畜牧业》一书,就几个主要方面向我们作了介绍,值得一读。本书共收编了二十三篇文章,其中乔备果同志写的“发展畜牧业必须贯彻多快好省的路线”一文介绍了我国几年来畜牧业发展的全貌,提出了生产中存在的问题。其他二十二篇也都是执行了多快好省地发展畜牧业生产的先进单位的事迹。邓子恢同志也为这本书写了序言,对我国畜牧业发展的方针作了重要的指示。 1958年我国畜牧业生产和整个农业生产一样也是一个大跃进。例如,到年底全国大牲畜已经达到八千八百五
