俺县良庄公社种植花生较多,这里的干部社员年年为“花生好种、蛴螬难治”而大伤脑筋。特别是到花生收刨之时,人们看到满地的“蛴螬眼子空壳果”更对这一地下害虫深恶痛绝。 前几年,这里也和别处一样防治蛴螬靠农药,没有什么好法。后来,我们通过走访老农,他们说:早年间这里有地头地边种植蓖麻的习惯,而且常发现蓖麻棵底下有药死的金龟子。按照这个启示,1978年春天,我们就在西良庄大队搞了花生地里做了种蓖麻的试验。在金龟子活动盛期进行观察,果然发现在蓖麻棵底下药死了
