Introduction This handbook is a concise handbook that assesses the performance of infrared front-viewers under a variety of conditions and is intended for use by field operators. The purpose of this manual is to present a set of procedures for deriving a procedure for quickly estimating the performance of an infrared front looking device and tabulating the input values for several different infrared front view devices, atmospheric transmission conditions, and the difficulty of visible light tasks. Examples of calculation procedures. The text uses the best available data and models. However, there are questions about these data, especially the expected aerosol extinction coefficient. These questions will be discussed in the relevant sections.
