Introduction The Mather Lode quartz vein type gold and Foothill steel-zinc massive sulphide mines are two adjacent ore zones located in a similar geological setting. Their consistency in location, ore-bearing rock and mineral composition suggests that there may be a causal link between deposits of this type. Quartz-bearing quartz vein depends on precipitation of hot water solution is mainly atmospheric precipitation, heat from granite. Most of the quartz is leached from the underlying metasedimentary and volcanic rocks while the metallic elements such as gold, silver, copper, lead and zinc are derived from the pre-existing volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits in the same formation .
