档案馆的社会功能是指档案馆工作在社会活动中能够产生的作用和效用。档案馆的社会功能,是由档案馆属性及档案工作的性质决定的。综合档案馆属于科学文化性质的公共事业单位,它在国家管理、民主、法制、文化及精神文明建设中发挥着特有的作用。一般地说来,综合档案馆的社会功能集中表现在以下三个方面:1.教化功能。从档案发挥作用的规律看,时间越久远的档案往往历史文化价值越大。档案资源作为一种独有的历史文化财富,对人们的思想认识、道德修养、文化学习等方面具有启迪、教益作用,发挥着特殊的社会教化功能。
The social function of the archives refers to the function and effect that the archives work can produce in the social activities. The social function of archives is determined by the nature of archives and the nature of archival work. The comprehensive archives belong to the scientific and cultural public utilities, which play a special role in the national management, democracy, legal system, culture and spiritual civilization. Generally speaking, the social functions of the comprehensive archives focus on the following three aspects: 1. Educational function. From the perspective of the law of archives, the longer the archives, the greater the historical and cultural value. Archives resources, as a unique historical and cultural asset, have enlightenment and educational functions in people’s ideological understanding, moral cultivation and cultural studies and play a special social educational function.
