五台山区条带状铁建造中金矿化带产于五台山绿岩带地层的金刚库组和柏枝岩组中,矿化体断续分布在铁建造下部与变镁铁质火山岩呈薄层互层状产出的金-铁建造中,主要矿化岩石为黄铁矿化或碳酸盐化磁铁石英岩。对矿化岩石的地质地球化学研究表明,矿化带是在早期火山喷气热液作用下形成的金铁建造,经过变质热液的活化和再富集形成的。
