自考生,特别是初次报名或已决定参加自学考试但尚未报名者一般都知道,自学考试,是自学者通过自学课程自学考试大纲(以下简称“考纲”)和自考教材参加考试、成绩合格后获得学历的国家考试。但对自考教材是怎样编写、它与普通高校、成人高校教材有何区别、与之配套的还有哪些学习材料、在购买过程中应注意什么、通过何种渠道购买等等不甚了解。现就上述问题作个概要介绍。自学考试是以普通高等院校结业水平为参照系、由全国考委或省考委负责组织制订专业考试计划(以下简称“计划”)、制订“考纲”、编写自考教材、命题、组配试卷、阅卷评分、并颁发毕业证书的。该考试最高领导机构是全国考委,下设了十四个专业委员会。
