Our students’ essays have a bad tendency to pursue words and deeds, but they are more and more unsophisticated. Professor He Yongkang talked about the 2004 college entrance examination essay: ”Some candidates used a lot of ancient poetry or a lot of celebrity anecdotes to prove ‘water spirit’ and ’mountain stability’ and they just refused to pay attention to their surroundings.
