2004年我校李善培校长提出老年教育应走向现代化,其后8年广州市老年干部大学就一直在理论和实践两个层面上探索这一问题。什么是老年大学教育现代化?我们认为,“老年大学教育现代化”是指达到世界老年教育先进水平,也是指达到国内国民教育现代化的先进水平。而从内涵角度可以定义为:以当代先进、科学的办学理念为指导,以信息化技术为教学手段,以适应现代社会和现代老人需求并具有超前性、引导性的课程设置为教学内容,以计算机软件处理事务的现代人
