Khaled Hosseini’s representative work, A Thousand Splendid Suns, reveals the pathetic experiences of two females Mariam and Laila, who respectively represent the uneducated illegitimate female and well-educated females in Afghan. They made different choices to achieve their goal of liberation. In this thesis, the effort made by the two females in the novel to obtain liberation is analyzed in details.
