The authors used a normal adult cat as an experiment to determine changes in the surface tension, cholesterol, phospholipids, and protein content of the lung eluent after a fatal head injury. The changes of the alveolar surface membrane were used to elucidate the occurrence of lung damage. Methods Normal controls were anesthetized with ketamine (20 mg / kg) and then intramuscularly succinylcholine (3 mg / ml) to stop breathing. When the experimental group relaxed in the upright position, the head pillow suffered a sudden blow with a weight of 3lb, a contact surface of 2in, a muzzle velocity of 50ft / sec and an angle of 45 °. Each time it causes death, no one regains consciousness. Some cats immediately convulsions while others did not have such seizures, the two experimental data were analyzed. After the cessation of respiration, the lungs were removed by thoracotomy, and rinsed with 40 ml of saline for 10 times repeatedly to collect pulmonary eluent. The surface tension, phospholipids and proteins were measured.
