我想先从一件小事讲起。我校有一位语文教师名叫吴泓,十分优秀,在本地很出名,是我们宝安区首席语文特级教师,光明日报、中国教育报等几十家报纸都先后专题报道了他的高中语文教改试验。他的特点是勤于阅读、善于思考、敢于实践、研究能力强,对语文教学有着从宏观到微观全面深入的理解和把握。但是这位老师不拘小节,开会经常迟到。事后他的态度倒是很好,“不好意思,校长,我又忘了”。但是有一次,事情被弄得挺糟糕。一次重要的有省市区领导出席的会议过后,一位区长给我打电话,专门指出了吴泓老师在会上的表现让他觉得不妥——吴老师坐在那里睡觉。此情此景,我只好代吴老师向他道歉。

In this scene, I had to apologize to him on behalf of Mr. Wu.
