为克服长丝杠加工设备长度规格不足,国内外许多长丝杠均以短丝杠接长来替代,借助接长工艺来保证丝杠的精度。如国外西德林特耐尔公司的GL—4型螺纹磨床、瑞士莱斯豪威尔公司的LD—35型丝杠车床、苏联雅沙机床厂的1633车床、美国专利N03266827以及国内沈阳一机床的SG8630SM8650、SM8680、S1039丝杠车床、上海机床厂S7450×5000大型螺纹磨等机床的母丝杠均采用了短丝杠接长工艺。
