江苏地处淮河和沂沭泗下游,由于历史上黄河多次夺淮逼迫淮河改道,致使这一地区洪水没有出路,泛滥成灾。建国后,江苏人民积极响应毛主席“一定要把淮河修好”的号召,开始了轰轰烈烈的治淮斗争。新沂河、苏北灌溉总渠、三河闸等一大批工程陆续兴建,使淮河下游防洪能力大大加强。
Jiangsu is located in the lower reaches of the Huaihe River and Yishusi, as the history of the Yellow River repeatedly forcing the Huai River to divert the Huai River diversion, resulting in no flood in this area, flooding. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the people of Jiangsu responded positively to Chairman Mao’s call of “fixing the Huaihe River properly” and started a vigorous struggle against the rule of the Huaihe River. A large number of projects such as Xinyi River, Northern Jiangsu Irrigation Canal and Sanhe Gate have been built one after another, greatly strengthening the flood control ability of the lower Huaihe River.
