Cooper-Murray is a magnificent brick building built between 1908 and 1916 by the Kiefer Brothers and Joseph Weiss. Initially, the thick walls of the construction process led the city project to link the city center with the river, making it the most important historic structure in the entire inner harbor area. The building was remodeled in a regional plan run by British architect Norman Foster. Currently, Coopersmuri is open as a 4850-square-meter exhibition area, a 920-m² restaurant and a 5,480-square-meter museum. For the Swiss architect Herzog & de Mulon, it is interesting to transform this industrial building into a museum of Hans Grotter's collection because the project and the Tate's Art Museum project in London At the same time. In contrast to the Tate's Art Museum, the Museum Kuupuri Muri retains only the shell of the building and renovates most of the load-bearing structures. Some old window frames are filled with the same size and color
