This article quantitatively studied the changes in the healing rate of gastric ulcer in rats under different thyroid function conditions. Rats ingested thiouracil (0.1% aqueous solution for drinking, feeding for 10 days), causing experimental hypothyroidism (hypothyroidism). When rats were given 0.1% thiouracil, thyroxine (3μg/100g body weight/day) was administered for 10 days, causing an experimental hyperthyroidism (a group of hyperthyroidism). Rats were treated with excess thyroxine (10 [mu]g/100 g body weight/day) for 10 days, causing experimental hyperthyroidism (hyperthyroidism group). The control group was normal and no treatment was performed. Then a small amount of acetic acid was injected into the submucosa to cause gastric ulcer. After 10 days of continuous administration of the animals in each group, the gastric ulcer area and volume were measured, and the healing rate was calculated. The experimental results showed that the ulcer volume (7.71±0.52mm~3; control group: 5.5±0.78mm~3) and area (8.29±0.90mm~2; control group: 4.39±0.73mm~2) both increased in the low-dose group. The ulcer healing rate (-30±9.4%) and area healing rate (-50±2.1%) were significantly reduced; the ulcer volume (4.75±0.88mm~3) and area (4.05±0.93mm~2 All decreased, but without statistical significance, ulcer volume healing rate (37±3.8%) and area healing rate (49±3.2%) increased significantly; hyperthyroid group ulcer volume (4.88±0.90mm~3) and area (5.16 (±0.74mm~2) was similar to the control group. The volume healing rate (28±1.1%) and area healing rate (10±1.9%) of the ulcer increased, but there was no statistical significance. These findings suggest that: 1. Thyroxine is a hormone that is necessary for the healing of gastric ulcers, and the healing rate of gastric ulcers is slowed down when hypothyroidism is low; 2. Low-dose thyroxine can promote the healing of gastric ulcers.
