一、引言大学英语课是我国高校对非英语专业学生开设的一门公共必修课。《大学英语教学大纲》(修订版)明确规定:“培养学生具有较强的阅读能力和一定的听说写译能力,使他们能用英语交流信息”。从大纲规定中不难看出,培养学生具有较强的阅读能力是大学英语教学目的的一个主要方面,然而在教学实践中,笔者发现随着我国教育改革和大学扩招的深入进行,非英语专业学生的英语阅读能力下降了,将近百分之五十的学生对课文中的复杂句难以理
I. INTRODUCTION College English course is a public compulsory course for non-English majors in colleges and universities of our country. The Syllabus for College English (Revised Edition) clearly stipulates: “Students should be trained to have a strong reading ability and a certain degree of listening, speaking, translating ability so that they can exchange information in English.” It is not difficult to see from the syllabus that to cultivate students with a strong reading ability is a major aspect of college English teaching. However, in the teaching practice, the author finds that with the deepening of China’s education reform and university enrollment, non-English majors English reading ability dropped, nearly 50% of students in the text of complex sentences difficult to reason
