In 1983, films featuring real life events took the upper hand, eclipsed popular feature films, fantasies, thrillers and entertainment films a year ago. A year ago the central issue of the movie review was “Is the Movie Faithful to Art?” Now Suddenly Changed to “Faithful to the Real?” In India, the most successful film of last year was “Only Half Are True,” which describes An honest policeman was destroyed by the stupidity and corruption of the Metropolitan Police Agency. In France, at least three major historical films have been released, including “Dandong,” directed by Polish director Andrzej Wazidada, which tries to reproduce the real scene of the French Revolution. In China (referring to Taiwan), a film called “The Boat” (translated), aiming at publicity but with many moving scenes, outlines the picture of the Chinese living in Sai Kung after being occupied by North Vietnam. This year the United States has released many films depicting life-like events.
