五四精神并非仅仅体现为反传统 ,而应归结为五四文化转型时期那一代知识分子在推进中国社会向前发展的进程中所共有的民族责任感和文化批判精神。“五四”后期的梁漱溟就已经跳出文化问题上欧化与东化之争的圈子 ,以一种文化多元论的眼光来处理中、西、印文化间的关系 ,也实际是处理世界化进程中的中国社会现实问题。这对于我们今天步入“新时代”有着积极的启迪意义。 The spirit of May Fourth Movement was not merely an anti-tradition. It should be attributed to the spirit of national responsibility and cultural criticism shared by the intellectuals of the generation during the May 4 Cultural Transformation in advancing the development of Chinese society. Liang Shuming, who came to the latter part of the May Fourth Movement, has already jumped out of the dispute over the issue of Europeanization and the Eastization on the issue of culture. He handled the relationship between the cultures of China, West and India in a cultural pluralism, and actually dealt with the globalization process Chinese social reality. This is a positive enlightenment for us entering the “new era” today.
