From traditional to modern art to postmodern art, the way in which space is represented in works of art has been changing. The traditional Western visual arts uses linear perspective as a means of expressing space and seeks to reproduce the three-dimensional space in a two-dimensional plane. Modern art has broken through this convention and has sought to find its own way of representing the space itself in the field of painting itself. , Pay more attention to the construction of the theatrical space set up around the artwork. In addition, the understanding of the concept of “space ” is changing in the art from the material space that constitutes the artwork to the social space where the artist lives and then the aesthetic space. Analyzing these changes from the perspective of history-geo-materialism can reveal the change in people’s inner space experience caused by the changes of material production mode, development of science and technology and social structure.
