本文综合回顾了国内外高分辨率地球系统模式在高性能计算机上的上千CPU核应用情况,并对中国科学院大气物理研究所大气科学和地球流体力学数值模拟国家重点实验室研发的气候系统模式FGOALS2.0进行了上千核的测试,结果表明FGOALS2.0已能使用上千CPU核进行计算,但模式模拟效率需要进一步提高。本文阐述了高性能计算技术与地球系统模式发展间的相互促进作用,指出了其中存在的技术问题,展望了高性能计算技术对高分辨率地球系统模式发展的有力支持。
In this paper, we review the application of thousands of CPU cores in high performance computers at home and abroad, and analyze the climate system model developed by the State Key Laboratory of Numerical Simulation of Atmospheric Sciences and Geophysics, Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences FGOALS2.0 conducted thousands of nuclear tests, the results show that FGOALS2.0 has been able to use thousands of CPU cores to calculate, but the mode simulation efficiency needs to be further improved. This article describes the interaction between high-performance computing technology and the development of the Earth System Model, points out the technical problems and prospects the high-performance computing technology to support the development of high-resolution Earth System model.
