The United States Air Force’s Wright Laboratory and Lola Defense Systems have developed a flexible airborne laser confrontation processor - the unique Multi-Spectra Counterplayer (UMCP). The new system, which uses this processor, has the ability to analyze, classify, track, prioritize and interfere with infrared missiles fired at the surface and in the air. Earlier this year, the U.S. Air Force successfully tested the processor’s ability to interfere with infrared seekers inside and outside the United States. UMCP is different from the experimental open-loop system such as ATIRCM airborne tactical infrared countermeasure device, the closed-loop system consisting of UMCP
