潮剧舞台上的司鼓者,既是乐队中的组织、演奏、指挥者,又是剧情的再创作者,控制着全场戏的节奏、情感和空间,起着综合舞台艺术的枢纽和促进作用。对于潮剧司鼓艺术来说,其创新的核心主要体现在击乐创作上。优秀的司鼓者,必须能够围绕剧目创作和演出的规律、特点和内涵,善于运用击乐设计对剧情进行再创作,并通过精彩的伴奏,实现烘托、渲染和补充剧情的目的,体现剧目主题。
