我县属岷江上游干旱河谷地区,土壤瘠薄,气候干燥,植被稀疏,水土流失严重,风速达5米/秒,已出现荒漠、半荒漠过渡的趋势,造林十分困难.为增加本区植被,1980年,我场从江苏省泗阳县苗圃引进美国黑杨(P.deltoides Marsn)的无性系:72号杨、69号杨、45号杨、214号杨.
