相比10.9mm厚的U608和10.6mm厚的E848,三星U700在厚度上显然不能独步天下。但是12.1 mm厚的U700依旧是超薄行列的一款实力机型,而且稍稍增加的厚度丝毫没有损失便携性,还获得了更佳的操作手感。U700与U608有太多的相似,320万像素支持自动对焦摄像头、2.2英寸的QVGA分辨率超靓屏、镜面设计、红外触摸按键、电源键和挂机键分离、流畅的外形设计,两者都是一脉相承。不过,U700还是有不少独门内涵,包括三星手机少见的正面视频通话摄像头和i308的转轮导航键设计。
