新民书屋,是解新民给自己管理的农家书屋起的名字,也是山西省运城市盐湖区最被人津津乐道的农家书屋。自全国性农家书屋工程启动以来,盐湖区委、区政府高度重视农家书屋建设工作,目前314个行政村全部建有农家书屋,藏书总量超过70万册,人均1.5册以上。解新民作为一个残疾人管理员,给新民书屋赋予了新的生命力。身残志不残创办农家书屋解新民是一个命运多舛的人。童年时因患重感冒治疗不及时,落下小儿麻痹后遗症,导致双腿残疾,无法正常行走。
