中国共产党第十二次全国代表大会的政治报告《全面开创社会主义现代化建设的新局面》中提出:“要大力推进社会主义物质文明和精神文明的建设”。这是全国人民的共同任务,也是图书馆的根本任务。图书馆界必须大力加强自身的两个文明建设,积极为社会主义物质文明和精神文明建设服务。为了更好地为两个文明建设服务,必须正确处理为社会主义精神文明建设服务与为社会主义物质文明建设服务的关系。
In the political report of the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, “a new situation of socialist modernization has been fully opened up,” it is proposed that “we must vigorously promote the building of a socialist material civilization and a spiritual civilization.” This is a common task of the people throughout the country and also a fundamental task of libraries. The library community must vigorously strengthen its own two civilizations and actively serve for the building of a socialist material civilization and a spiritual civilization. In order to better serve the two civilizations, we must correctly handle the relations between serving the construction of socialist spiritual civilization and serving the building of a socialist material civilization.
