作为英国近代文学史上的经典作家,狄更斯创作高产,风格独特,批判现实主义与浪漫主义兼备,还以高度的艺术概括、生动的细节描写、妙趣横生的幽默和细致入微的心理描写革新小说创作,将小说推至一个新的高度。对狄更斯短篇小说的研究深度匮乏,制约了其小说创作整体成就的发掘,也极易造成大众对狄更斯的误读。因此,本文以其短篇小说《穷人的专利权》和《马戈白车站的侍者》为蓝本,从人物、叙事、语言三个方面对其短篇小说创作特色进行探寻研究,以期还原狄更斯小说创作的整体成就。
