海洋浮游有孔虫硼同位素能够反映海水酸碱度值的变化,重建大气二氧化碳浓度变化历史.对比分析了末次冰期最盛期(LGM)和全新世(Holocene)赤道太平洋、赤道大西洋和加勒比海地区3个钻孔的Globigerinoides sacculifer和Globigerinoides ruber有孔虫样品中的硼同位素和各种微量元素的变化,发现G.ruber更加适合进行钻孔下部硼同位素的分析,而G.sacculifer可能容易受到溶解作用的影响导致其冰期硼同位素可能偏低.微量元素分析表明浮游有孔虫中的Mg/Ca,B/Ca,U/Ca和Li/Ca比值能在一定程度上反映海水温度和[CO32-]的变化,但都受到不同种属以及其他次要因素的影响,在将其应用到钻孔下部样品时,需要进行必要的校正工作.
