1999年10月24～27日在美国夏威夷檀香山举行的第二届泛太平洋农药科学会议是由美国化学会农药分会和日本农药学会合办的本世纪末农药科技界的一次盛会。来自美国、日本、中国、德国、澳大利亚、南非、韩国、英国、加拿大、瑞士、泰国等国的农药大公司和科研院校的会议代表达180人之多。我国共有四位代表参加,国家北方农药研究工程中心的南开大学元素所派了一名,国家南方农药创制中心的浙江基地派了三名。大会首先由美国加利福尼亚大学的Casida教授作题为“农药初生与次生的新颖作用靶标”
The 2nd Pan-Pacific Conference of Pesticide Sciences, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, October 24-27, 1999, was a gala event for the pesticide science and technology community at the end of this century, co-sponsored by the Pesticide Branch of the American Chemical Society and the Japan Society of Pesticides. Pesticide companies and research institutes from the United States, Japan, China, Germany, Australia, South Africa, South Korea, Britain, Canada, Switzerland and Thailand have more than 180 delegates. A total of four representatives from China participated in the program. One was from Nankai University, a national center for pesticide research and engineering in the north, and three from the Zhejiang Base of the State Southern Pesticide Creation Center. The conference was first titled by Professor Casida at the University of California at San Francisco as the “novel target of primary and secondary pesticide”
