《辞书记失》以1 43篇小文章,简洁明快地辨析了包括《辞海》在内的一批辞书在释词、编纂上的各种失误。这一工作至少有两方面的意义和启迪:一是重现了巢峰先生等老一代杰出编辑出版工作者勤于思考、勇于探索、实事求是、精益求精的对出版事业无限忠诚的“辞海精神”。在出版业态正发生着重大转型的今天,亲历者的现身说法是传承伟大编辑精神的急迫而重要的工作。其二,在“记失”词汇的背后,更有着近35年来中国思想文化观念的变化以及政治、文化的多种冲突背景。这些“今日之是”与“昨日之非”彰显了当代中国社会的大变化,尤其值得人们“小题大做”。
