1994年3月27日,一个令长庆油田采油三厂采油四大队职工心碎的日子。副大队长段兆虎在连续工作8小时以后,突然发病,与世长辞。职工们沉痛地说:“段大队长是为油累死的啊!”的确,段兆虎到油田16年,所有的付出,所有的拼搏都是为了石油。他的最后工作岗位是油房庄油田。在主持工作的21天里,他平均每天工作18小时。有一次他上井回来后,又接着处理与老乡的纠纷问题,整整34个小时没有合眼。有人给他算了算,他这21天干了46天的工作。这21天,是他一生中最后的拼搏。
