In this paper, the gain saturation and transient gain characteristics of the traveling-wave semiconductor optical amplifier are analyzed. It is pointed out that the semiconductor optical amplifier’s position in the loop mirror can be accurately controlled by utilizing the characteristics of fast gain saturation of the semiconductor optical amplifier and the semiconductor optical amplifier loop Road mirror to achieve high-speed demultiplexing function
