Objective To understand the impact of long-term exposure to larger doses of ionizing radiation on the health status of interventional radiographers in Guangdong Province, to ensure the health and safety of interventional radiologists and to improve the radiation protection measures. Methods According to the survey method of radiation epidemiology, the health status of interventional radiologists in some hospitals in Guangdong Province was investigated and analyzed according to the requirements of the “Radiation Workers Health Standards” and the Radiation Workers Medical Checklist issued by the Ministry of Health. Results The percentages of lymphocytes involved in radiation workers showed a gradual decreasing trend with the increase of radiation workers’ age. The micronucleus rates of interventional radiographers and general X-ray workers were (3.70 ± 2.69) ‰ and (2.48 ± 2.07) ‰, respectively, The difference between the two was statistically significant; micronucleus anomalies involved in radiation workers, with the growth of radioactive age and increased trend. Conclusion To strengthen the health management of interventional radiologists, raise the awareness of personal protection and promote the province’s involvement in radiology.
