‘秣陵秋色’为南京艺莲苑以‘杏黄’为母本、采用自然杂交的方法于2006年育成的荷花品种。其花为黄色,开放时类似秋天的菊花,又产古称秣陵的南京,故名‘秣陵秋色’。‘秣陵秋色’为中小株型,立叶高30 cm～38cm,叶径约51cm×40cm,花柄高约57cm。花期较早,6月初始花,群体花期长达63天;花似菊花,初开色较淡,盛开色变深。着花较密,单株盆栽可开8朵花。花蕾长桃形,尖端微绿色;重瓣,花瓣77枚～88枚。花径15 cm～19cm,最大瓣径7cm,宽3cm,花态呈飞舞状。花黄色,基部黄橙色,雄蕊变瓣尖端边缘淡绿色。雄蕊少,附属物大,黄色。雌蕊心皮4枚～15枚,部分泡化,能结实。青熟花托斗形,绿色。地下茎筒状。
