With no evidence of poliomyelitis (polio), the monitoring of non-polio enterovirus (NPEV) cases in acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) cases is of concern. In order to understand the type and epidemiological distribution of NPEV in AFP cases in Heilongjiang Province, we provide a scientific basis for the laboratory diagnosis of NPEV-causing disease epidemics.
