Reflections on Foreign Direct Investment Concerns Wang Yu Since the promulgation of the “Law of the People’s Republic of China on Sino-Foreign Joint Ventures” in July 1979, foreign direct investment has enjoyed rapid growth in China. By the end of 1995. China has approved a total of 258,000 foreign direct investment projects, with a total investment of over 4600 billion U.S. dollars and foreign affiliates contributing about 185 billion U.S. dollars.
