In recent years, hepatitis E (HE) has become an important public health problem in developing countries. It occurs in a prevalent and sporadic pattern, with a high mortality rate, especially among pregnant women, for reasons that remain unclear. The authors used macaques to study the effects of Hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection on primate pregnancy and whether there is vertical transmission. In this study, a total of 10 macaques were used. Six pregnant pregnant monkeys (2 in each of the early, middle and late stages of pregnancy) were intravenously injected with 0.5 ml of 10% SAR-55 HEV excrement suspension containing 10 ~ (5.5) ID_ ). Control group of 4 (male and non-pregnant females each
