Advances in bulk and epitaxial growth significantly improve the structural integrity of HgCdTe crystals and more demand for twinning diffraction measurements that can quantitatively assess their crystalline quality. In this paper, the X-ray total reflection angular width of complete HgCdTe and four related crystals is calculated by the kinetic theory of diffraction.
