提倡全用国字,即使合情合理,无可非议,却是一种得不偿失的主张,现在看来,则是一种窒息今后民族文化、民族教育的主张。 全用国字无甚可取,与汉字并用理所应当。国字是拼音文字,汉字是表意文字,各有长短,扬其所长,弃其所短,两者并用,相得益彰。使用这种拼音、表意文字混合体,换言之,即国字汉字混合体,乃是苍天赐与吾人之福祉,世宗大王御制国字之阴德。
To advocate full use of national characters, even if fair and reasonable, is beyond reproach, but it is a claim that is outweighing the gains. Now it appears to be a proposition of suffocating the future national culture and ethnic education. All use of Chinese characters is not desirable, and Chinese characters and should be used.
